Occurrence of the battle

On October 11, 1977, after a meeting of the Soran Second Region leadership under the supervision of Kamal Kirkuki at the house of Bayiz Abdullah in the village of Khurkhure, it was decided that the Peshmerga forces would attack the Bingrd sub-district. For this purpose, the Peshmerga force was divided into several smaller detachments, including the detachment of Haji Faqi Ismail, which consisted of Peshmerga from the Jafayati region, the detachment of Salih Mela Ahmed, the detachment of Haji Sheikh Hussein Loter, the detachment of Haji Muhammad Sufiani, along with some of the Peshmerga from Galala Shinkayati. On the same night, December 11, the Peshmerga detachments attacked the Bingrd sub-district and were able to seize the police headquarters and the Ba'ath Party organization base in the Bingrd sub-district in a short time, and even the sub-district was completely seized that night. After the Peshmerga force achieved a good gain, they retreated the next morning and evacuated the sub-district. In that attack, each of Kwekha Pirot, Hama Sur Haji Rasul, and Hama Kaka Sur from the Peshmerga force were wounded.
