The year 1975 was a bad year in the history of Kurdistan, because the setback did not only affect the revolution, but the hope of liberation was also disappointed in it. The setback entered the fighting trenches and the souls and hearts of all Kurds. There was no glimmer of hope left to send optimism into the souls of the people. Thousands of Peshmerga loyal to the revolution were subjected to disappointment, pessimism, and heartbreak.[1]،

This Situation did not last more than one year when the revolution leadership reorganized itself in the middle of the Year 1976 and rang the bell for the beginning of another armed revolution against the enemies who were the reason for the setback of the Aylul Revolution[2] by an international plot, and hope returned once again to the Peshmerga revolutionaries as their activities increased in various regions of South Kurdistan. In fact, there are many battles and epics that the Peshmerga recorded in the history of the Gulan Revolution in many regions of Kurdistan, as they were able to deal strong blows to the sites, camps, and institutions that were within the range of their weapons.

One of the great and historical epics recorded by the Peshmerga Forces is the epic of Kani Sef and Chumeres of Qoche Mountain on the road between Sayid Sadiq and Penjwen on October 20, 1980, when a force of Peshmerga with their light weapons faced a force of the Iraqi Army equipped with heavy and light weapons. In addition to the forces that faced the Peshmerga in the battle, the Iraqi government landed a large number of other forces in the area by helicopter to Support its forces on the ground, but that did not scare the Peshmerga and did not affect their heroic morale, but they continued fighting, until they were able to deal a strong and effective blow to the enemy forces. The outcome of the battle was the killing of a large number of Iraqi Army soldiers and the wounding of others, and an Officer with the rank of Captain Pilot named Ahmed Ismail Al-Aqili was captured by the Peshmerga Forces.[3].

But what is regrettable and brings shame before the struggle and sacrifice for a sacred cause is the inappropriate and fragmented position in the revolution, as a force belonging to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan suddenly appeared in the Kani Manga area, which attacked the Peshmerga Forces from behind, and after a fierce and bloody battle, two Peshmerga were martyred in the battle, namely Muhammad Wardaula and Azad Sheikh Qadir.[4].
