In the history of the Kurdish liberation movement, guerrilla warfare is known as the most effective weapon of the Peshmerga Forces against the Ba'athist army. One of the bold and successful activities carried out in the early eighties of the last century was the Mujeser village ambush in the Bradost area. Due to its geographical location and proximity to the borders, the Bradost area had a strategic position for the Peshmerga; at the same time, it was a main supply route for military logistics to the town of Sidakan and the surrounding outposts. This activity not only caused human and material losses to the enemy but also left a deep psychological impact on the morale of the Iraqi Army in that region.
To continue the Peshmerga activities and strike and inflict damage on the military forces of the Ba'athist regime, a Peshmerga detachment led by Hamad Mamand set a plan for a guerrilla activity to set an ambush and attack the military vehicles of the Iraqi Army. After discussing and exchanging opinions on determining the location for the activity, they reached the conclusion that the vicinity of Mujeser village in the Bradost area was a suitable place to set an ambush, because it is a valley area overlooking the main road leading to the town of Sidakan, where military vehicles were constantly passing.
On a spring evening in 1980, the Peshmerga reached the target location, and each took their designated position. They lay in wait for a military vehicle for some time. Suddenly, a military vehicle of the (Jeep Qiyada) type appeared on the road, heading in the direction of the Peshmerga ambush.
As soon as the vehicle reached the Peshmerga ambush, they all opened fire on it simultaneously. In a short time, they were able to destroy the vehicle and kill all the passengers, who were seven soldiers; none of them escaped safely. However, because the location was on the main road where military forces were constantly passing, and the surrounding heights were military outposts and bases, the Peshmerga could not go to the site of the vehicle's destruction to seize it and collect their weapons. Instead, for the sake of their safety, they only managed to move away from the location and escape safely. It is worth mentioning that the activity had a great impact and caused a lot of fear and terror within the ranks of the Iraqi Army.
