Engineer and politician Sasan Osman Ewnî Habib, known as (Sasan Ewnî). In 1991, he joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 1993, at the eighth congress, he was elected as a member of the executive committee of the Kurdistan Students Union, and later he was elected by the executive committee as the Secretary of the Kurdistan Students Union. In 2010, at the thirteenth congress, he was elected as a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 2019, he became the Minister of Municipalities and Tourism in the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Biography

Sasan Ewnî was born in 1970 in the city of Erbil and is the son of the poet Osman Ewnî. In 1993, he received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Salahaddin University - Erbil. In 2010, he obtained a master's degree in management and economics from the Lebanese-French University in Erbil. He is proficient in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.

Work History

Sasan Ewnî established contact with the ranks of the Kurdistan Students and Youth Union and the ranks of the Party in 1991. In 1993, he was appointed as a member of the executive committee of the Kurdistan Students and Youth Union, and in the same year, at the eighth congress (Freedom Congress), he was elected as a member of the executive committee of the Kurdistan Students Union, and later he was elected by the executive committee as the Secretary of the Kurdistan Students Union and continued in that position until 1998.

 

In 1993, he was a representative at the eleventh congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Unified in the city of Erbil. In 1995, he was appointed as a branch administrator at the twenty-seventh branch of the second branch. In 1999, he was a representative at the twelfth congress of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the city of Erbil.

 

In 2010, at the thirteenth congress, he was elected as a member of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and from (2011 - 2019) he was the head of the mass and professional organizations board of the Kurdistan Democratic Party. In 2019, he became the Minister of Municipalities and Tourism in the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
