Original
At a time when we are working with officials to implement the decisions of the Ministerial Committee in the 3/4 meeting, unfortunate incidents occurred, which hinders the implementation of the decisions and creates an atmosphere of extreme tension. At 9:00 AM on 12/4, some gunmen occupied military unit outposts near Chamchamal and opened fire on those units, killing several soldiers and wounding others. Two Peshmerga from the village of Tawakal were also killed in the same incident. On 13/4, an ambush was set for Sheikh Hanesh, the head of the Tayy tribe, while he was returning from Erbil to his village, and he was killed along with five others, and two people were wounded. The Arab tribes gathered in the province of Mosul and Erbil and want to take revenge on the residents of the Kurdish villages. The commander of the 2nd Division in Erbil attended for this purpose. We strongly condemn and denounce these criminal acts, which there is no doubt that there are infiltrated groups and malicious hands that are pushing for their commission. The situation is extremely tense. We fear that it will develop into a racial issue between Arabs and Kurds in the region, and this is something that no sincere person in this homeland accepts. We contacted the President of the Republic by phone, and he expressed his extreme dissatisfaction with these incidents, which would have dire consequences if they were not dealt with immediately, firmly, and strictly. We contacted some of the ministers, and it is scheduled that the Ministerial Committee will attend within two or three days. We hope that immediate and strict measures will be taken, otherwise we will not bear responsibility for the results. We ask Shajara to convey this to the Executive Office. Inform us immediately.
