Academic and politician Dr. Vian Sabri Abdulkhaliq, known as Dr. Vian Qazi Akreyi, joined the ranks of the Party in 1992, and in 2010 at the Thirteenth Congress became an alternate member of the Leadership Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

Biography

Dr. Vian Sabri was born in Baghdad in 1965. She obtained a bachelor's degree in medicine from Salahaddin University in 1989 and was appointed as a physician in the town of Akrê in the same year. In 2006 she obtained a postgraduate diploma specializing in pediatrics and gynecology from the University of Duhok, and in 2014 she obtained a community medicine board certification from the Kurdistan Board. She is proficient in Kurdish, Arabic, and English.

Political struggle

Dr. Vian Sabri joined the ranks of the Party in 1992, became the administrator of the Akrê branch of the Kurdistan Women's Union in 1994, and in 2005 became a branch member of the committee of Duhok's First Branch. In 2010, at the Thirteenth Congress, she became an alternate member of the Leadership Council of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and was appointed deputy head of the Elections Organization.

In 2018, on the Kurdistan Democratic Party list in Duhok Governorate, she became a member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, and at the end of the same year she was appointed head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party faction in the Iraqi Council of Representatives.
