In the context of the battles that took place during the time of the Republic of Kurdistan between the Peshmerga Forces belonging to the Republic and the Iranian Army forces, the battle of Mulla Sheikh village was one where the Barzani forces had an effective role. The battle took place as follows: In the Year 1946, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, most of the Peshmerga who were assigned to the Sardasht-Baneh division and were from the people of the Swisnaiti area returned to their homes and children from their bases surrounding Sardasht without the knowledge of their commanders. Only 180 Peshmerga from Mahabad and a few others remained there. The enemy took advantage of this opportunity, and on the first night of Eid al-Adha, it attacked the Warsho-Shinoyi fortress, and from there it began to advance towards the village of Mulla Sheikh. In the early morning, three aircraft belonging to the Iranian Air Force bombed the village of Rabat.
Therefore, 60 Peshmerga from the Rabat guard base, led by Salih Abdul Aziz, crossed the Kloni River and attacked the enemy in the village of Mulla Sheikh, and they were able to force it to retreat towards Sardasht. In that battle, one of the Peshmerga named Hassan Khani Barbaji carried out a suicide attack on one of the enemy's tanks and was martyred as a result. While the Peshmerga were transporting the body of the Martyr, the enemy entered the city of Sardasht. On the same night, another detachment of the enemy seized the Warshian fortress, but after the attack of the Barzani forces, the Iranian soldiers threw down their weapons and fled, leaving the battle front, but after they learned that the road to the city had been closed to them, they were forced to return to the fortress. The losses of the Kurdish forces in that battle amounted to one Martyr and five wounded, while the losses of the Iranian Army amounted to 22 dead, including their commander named Khalat Bari. As for the gains of the Peshmerga Forces from that battle, they consisted of two heavy machine guns, 18 Brno rifles, several boxes of hand grenades, and large quantities of Ammunition.
